Rockin M Ranch Photo Page
This is just a page where we are going to post pics around the ranch and show off our animals.
UPDATE:
I added some pictures below that I took of the flooding we had 3-18-2008

This is "Poco Mr. Cody" aka Cody, he is our AQHA red dun gelding we got this last summer.
When we got him they said he was really crazy and would buck every time you got on him.
He came to us skittish, very nervous, (and possibly had been abused in his past??).
We started him just ground work for a while and let him gain our trust, he now is being rode by
a 12 year old girl. They are doing great together, she is training him on barrels and he will do
anything for her! He has never bucked or done anything crazy since we have had him. We love him
and are very happy to have added him to our family.

This is "Outwest Hancock" aka Cherokee, my personal horse. He is a 2002 AQHA gelding.
I got him as a yearling. He has been very easy to train, he's almost to smart for his own good!
We were hoping to put him into cutting training this past spring, but the trainer that I had chose
was full. So we have been working him here on cattle, started him on barrels and poles, and a little
roping. He is one horse I will probably never sell! He is very versatile and with more time, I think he'll
make an all around rodeo horse. We will start competing this spring and I think he will excel quickly!

Dinner Time!

This pic was taken March 3, 2008, hopefully this is the last snow of the season!

Baby pygmy/nigerian dwarf babies, they were only one day old in this pic.

I had mixed milk replacer up in that bucket for a calf and before I got it picked it up, the cats were helping themselves!

This is one of the baby Jersey calves we raised this last summer(2007). Jerseys have such sweet faces :)
This is "Doc Buzz", he is coming 7 April 2008. We got him as a weanling, raised him, bred
one mare to him ('Misty' on the 'horses for sale' page is the foal by him), had him gelded, then
broke him to ride. He is a very smart horse, loves working cattle, trail riding, and being groomed...
he is like a dog, he'll follow you all over the field just for a scratch or a treat!
"Cody" and one of the Jerseys sharing their dinner.

This is Abigail, one of my milk cows. She thinks she's a pet and should be treated like royalty : )

Here is Abigail with her newborn calf named "Sunny", he was about 10 minutes old in this pic. She picked
the worst day to have him, it was pouring down rain, and yes, there was more flooding! 6-13-08
FLOOD PICTURES
Here are pictures I took after the flooding
3-17-08 through 3-19-2008.

This is going down our road, water was really washing over...a lot of the gravel off of the road ended up
in our field.
This was down in the bottom of our field, in pics it don't look anything like it was. You could barely stand up
in that water under the trees...it would almost wash your feet out from under you.

Here was were the water was rushing across the road into the field. Notice the foam on the water...that's how
much force there was!

That is the roof-top of a barn just down the road from us.

This is an intersection of two highways...notice the stop sign barely above the water in front of the green distance sign.
